How many Hotels are there in Portugal, Algarve? |
Travel Info and How many luxury Hotels are there in algarve? plz I need to know:) Travel Tips A LOT of hotels! The majority of them are 3 and 4 stars, with a few 5 stars thrown in between. The Algarve is one of the prime vacation spots in Europe. Looking at the search results in google, I see that the Sheraton Algarve Hotel pops up quite a number of times with good recommendations as one of the best in the Albufeira area. The two Meridien hotels also get good ratings, but they are only 4 star. Apparently there is also a 6 star hotel, the Vila Vita Park in Armacao de Pera. (Note that Portugal has very high standards, what might be 5 star in Turkey is 3 star in Portugal. So the stars given differ, depending upon whether you use the local scale or the international one.) Others This is an impossible answer because many establishments are not on an official register. Also I'm not sure what you want to classify as a hotels, since many other forms of accommodation are finding themselves included, such as apartment hotels ( serviced apartments ) , up market hostels , pensions etc. You could however, email the official tourism authority for Portugal and they may well be able to indicate how many. I've given you an access link to their website below via TourismRankings. My estimate is that there is probably between 500 and1000 establishments with over 30 rooms. There is also a directory here which allows you to sort hotels by location , price and star rating.
