i'm going to stay at clube humbria in olhos de agua, vilamoura in may. has anyone been there specificly and is there any good karaoke bars, markets or shops there that you'd recommend i visit while i'm there?

Travel Tips

You will find everything you need in Vilamoura. It麓s one of the most glamourous places in Algarve. There are lot's of bars and very good restaurants in the marina area. You will find also a Mcd and a Burguer king close to the center. For local markets I would advise you to get a taxi and visit a small town called Quarteira which is around 5 Km from Vilamoura. You should try the seafood which is especially good. For lower prices though I would recomend you to chose Quarteira restaurants because Vilamoura is a bit expensive but excellent quality. For night life nothin beats Albufeira! You should check it least one time. There is dozens of good bars and discos. If you go there before June just go at fridays and saturdays night. Good nightlife everyday only in the summer (june to spetember). Lot麓s of local stores sport good regional handicraft that I think you will like. Albufeira is around 20 Kms from Vilamoura. For shopping at regular prices I suggest you to visit Guia Shopping Center which is very close to Albufeira (in EN125 road) on the way to Portim茫o. You will find all top brands in this shopping center at very good prices (this is where most of the locals shop so expect good prices). Hope you enjoy your time there! Other Travel Tips
I've been to Vilamoura, it's really nice...not too built up or busy, although it was about 15 years ago so i don't know what it's like now. There's lots of lovely restaurants on the marina but for cheap and cheerful go for the barbequed chicken piri piri from the street side vendors and eat on the beach...It's fantastic and knocks KFC and McD'ds into a cocked hat.
My friend is portugese and has a place there, so we did what the natives did! brilliant holiday. Enjoy yourself and wear sunscreen!!
