Portugal - Praia da Rocha or Carvoeiro??

I have a choice of going to either of these 2 places for 7 days next week, can anyone give me any ideas on what sort of places they are i.e. are they lively/quiet? cheap/expensive?, or can anyone recommend any of these?

hey you will have a fab time which ever you go to. I worked near praia da rocha and it was fab lots of nightlife and relatvely good value for money. The beach is great and can recommend lindas bar, its fab they used to do evening bbqs there as well.
Carvoeiro is also lovely, its close to the big slide and splash water park and the beach is quite nice too. Its quieter the PRD. I would advise hiring a car whilst you are there as there is so much to see (aquamarina, boat trips, water parks, surfing and water sports etc etc) in that area and having a car will give u a bit more idependent although most hotels will arrange excersisions pr the local public transport is quite good too.
As for prices, its pretty much the same all over the algarve. I worked there for 6 months, ate out everynight and did all the toursit stuff during the day and still came home with over 拢1000 saved.

Carvoeiro we stayed at on first visit to Portugal , did not rate the beach that much , night life not to bad . Prices all about the same throughout Portugal , sorry cant help about Praia da Rocha sure someone will . Hope you enjoy which ever you choose. Ps do remember Praia da Rocha , visited it for a day was huge . Lots to do long beach with golden sands very lively . Think liked it better than Carvoeiro .
I went to Carvoeiro on holiday years ago. It was really nice, quite relaxed and friendly. I would recommend it. PDR is quite close but more well known and therefore busier. have fun- wish i was going!
