When to go to Madeira - Portugal?

Travel Info
Hello.

Can you tell me what time of the year is best to go to Madeira?
The best time to go to the beach,do activities, have a good nightlife too.

And where in Madeira can I do all this?

Travel Tips
During the whole year it is a good time to go to Madeira. Only during the first months of the year I have experienced some periods with showers, wind and rain. I assume you are looking for beaches. Madeira does not have a beach scene. Natural sandy beaches you will not find here easy. Most of the natural beaches are rocky. There are however a few new man-made beaches, such as Calheta Beach, and sea pool complexes in Porto Moniz and in Funchal. BUT ... when you are on Madeira you can visit its little sister-island Porto Santo which has 8km beautiful golden sand beach. You can visit Porto Santo by taking the ferry that sails frequently between the two islands.

For nightlife the best place is the city of Funchal. There are a great deal of activity going on that tourists and people from outside the island does not know of ... because it is locally advertised (thus in Portuguese) however everybody is welcome to participate. My advice is ... to ask! When you are in Funchal ... ask any Madeiran (at the restaurant, hotel, taxi driver, personnel at the shop etc.) where and when is the next nightlife activity. The trick is to ask where they would go themselves when going out. You will be surprised the options that are here.

Others
Never been there, but I suspect Funchal is the best place to stay - most will be happening there.
Considered going there for honeymoon years ago 'cos the weather is pretty good through to September/October, but Summer months of June/July/August are probably the warmest.
I've never been there but I think it is pretty nice almost all year round. Also, from my understanding Madeira does not have any beaches. However, it is absolutely beautiful with tons activities. The place to be is probably Funchal. I'm thinking of going there myself this summer.
Madeira has one beach, but it is private and absolutely no one can visit. Consider Sao Miguel, the largest island of the Azores. Very rich in culture, awesome nightlife throughout the island and tons of activities. Also, a few great beaches and two water parks. Good day trips available. Best places to stay are the capital, Ponta Delgada and Nordeste.

In Madeira, not much nightlife or activities other than look at the lush greenary and dining out.

When we were in Madeira, we kept hearing that the most beautiful and fun time to be there is at New Years. I'm sure the weather would be fine, but it might not be quite warm enough for swimming.
