Backpacking in Portugal? |
Travel Info Has anyone ever been to Portugal? If so, how was your trip? How long did you stay? Was it safe? Fun? Did you backpack? If so, are there any cheap hostels? Any information would be helpful. Travel Tips Hi! Portugal is a pretty peaceful and safe destination for backpacking. especially the North and there it's a great place for it! In term s of hostels there are some in the major cities. in smaller cities you can find "pensoes" that are small houses with rooms to rent and quite friendly! xek my blog for info on Portugal and links and things I recommend on doing and visiting!! http://experienceportugal.blogspot.com/... Have fun!!! Source(s): http://experienceportugal.blogspot.com/... Other Travel Tips i go there in the summer with my family Evey year and love it there, my mom and dad have a house there and i stay there for like 4 weeks in augusts. I'm Portuguese so, you should go there it alot of fun. I'm from Portugal. I'll tell you, if you want to backpack it's the northest you want to go to ... the south is too warm for that, unless you're willing to trek in the warm climates. Madeira is great to explore, if you want to do that! Went travelling in a campervan there about 6 years ago. Never had to stay in a hostel so can't give you that info. Mainly travelled in central and North portugal where it is slightly cooler and greener. We loved it (so much so that we are moving there permanently this year). Everybody we met was very friendly and helpful. We had numerous problems with the van and everytime people went out of their way to help us. We were even brought food a number of times by people. We felt safe all the time. Have lots of fun - we did!!!! |
