What is a town that is close to Nice, France that is cheaper to stay in?

I live in Cagne sur Mer , its about 10 minutes from Nice by train and is close to a pebble beach , i'm sure you could find a cheap hotel here , but as the other answer mentions there are also cheap hotels in Nice ! Sadly most of the South of France is expensive , there is also a lovely medieval village just behind Cagne sur Mer , called Haut de Cagne , on top of the hill , there's a hotel called Grimaldi that's not too expensive and is well worth staying at if its a nice cheapish holiday retreat your looking for instead of a busy , noisy city like Nice , Haut de Cagne is beautiful and still quite central !
