What is a good hotel to stay in in San Juan, PR?

Travel Info
I am going to San Juan, PR this summer and am looking for a nice, affordable hotel to stay in on the beach. I would like it to be right on the beach so that I can walk out the hotel and be right there. Also, something clean with good food and nice ammenities (pool, etc....) close to good shopping as well.

Travel Tips
These are one of the best hotels in San Juan P.R.

Embassy Suites, is close to the Airport, but if you want to stay in a cheap hotel, you can stay in Hotel Milano: right in the Old San Juan

Hi,

You do not give a price range per night that you think is affordable.

Try expedia.com or orbitz, com and check the rates for hotels in the Condado / Isla Verde area.

I have read decent reviews for the Marriott Courtyard Isla Verde Resort, It is close to the beach (and airport so there may be a little aircraft noise)

Another option Holiday Inn in Carolina - not on the beach but close. again check reviews at tripadvisor.com

Condado Plaza has a nice pool complex and close to beach

Take a look at tripadvisor.com and search there for San Juan Hotels, they also list Bed & Breakfasts which will be cheaper than hotels.

Once you are here, if you are looking for ideas on what to see and do, check out the posts here:

Instead of the embassy suites San Jaun. Try to stay in the embassy suites Dorado. Its about a 30 minute drive from San Juan, but so much better to stay. I will give you a link. It is sooo gorgeous. It has a private beach attached & a bar/dance area w/ live salsa music every night. A regular suite is $225 a night & worth even more. This town is very americanized so don't worry if you do not speak spanish. Many malls close by too & close enough to spend time in San Juan & see attractions!
