Puerto Rico Question..?

Maybe im not asking correctly, i live in NJ and im a green card holder.. not a citizen but yes leagal to enter and leave the US. Now, going to Puerto Rico, would it be the same as going to Florida for me?

Here is the correct answer if you are a LAPR and you are traveling from the United States to Puerto Rico for as long as you dont make a stop on another foreign country you are not making an entry into the United States. In fact you wont even go through customs or immigration when you land. Puerto Rico is a comonwealth of the United States (a territory).
The official definition of the United States is The continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, American Samoa, Puerto Rico and the Swain ISlands.

No, it would not be the same. Going from NJ to FL is staying within the country. Going to Puerto Rico is leaving the country and you will need a valid passport to enter Puerto Rico and to return to the US.
No she is wrong. Going to Puerto Rico is NOT leaving the country b/c it is the USA!! You are fine going like that. If you want to prove it, call the airline that you are taking & ask them.

See my answer to your other question. If you have a valid green card, you can either use that as your ID for travlling (as it is a government issued card) or your state issued driving licence.

NOTE: The person that said you need a passport is WRONG.
