Travel Info I'm planning a trip to Puerto Rico, but I don't know which city to go to. Which would be the best destination Travel Tips I suggest staying in Dorado. Its only about a 40 minute drive from San Juan & it is cheaper & more beautiful. You would need to rent a car then, which you should do anyway b/c then you can go sight seeing. I rented from Thrifty near the airport & it was cheap. Of course you will need to spend a day in San Juan & see old San Juan & the beautiful Morro (old fort) & the streets of Old San Juan, but then you can venture off & You can see El Yunque Rain Forest & Camuy Caves & the Arecibo telescope & there are so many beautiful beaches around the whole island. Also in Vieques or La parguera you can go to a biolumenescent Bay, that glows in the dark. If you stay in Dorado you can stay at the Embassy Suites. Less than $200 a night & it is gorgeous with a pool & poolside bar, jacuzzi, private beach, balconies, bar & dance lounge w/ live salsa bands on weekends. Check out these sites. I would stay around the San Juan area if this is your first visit.
