Where can I rent a car if I go to Puerto Rico? .? |
Travel Info am 18 years old and are taking my summer vacation there. I plan on travel through the coast and need some sort of transportation to do that because paying for busses can get expensive Travel Tips You are supposed to be 26 & need a credit card to rent a car. Sometimes they except a debit w/ visa. I went to a place called Thrifty outside of SJU airport. I rented a car for 14 days so it cost me $400, which was cheaper than all the rest & then I had to pay $100 extra b/c I am under 26. They spoke english also. Driving was great to have freedom & see the sites. Check them out, they have transportation from the airport to pick up the car. I booked it with orbitz. www.orbitz.com www.thrifty.com Others That is the best way to get around in PR, otherwise you will spend too much in taxis. Rent the car at the airport, or reserve it online, so you can get the lowest rates available. It is very easy to drive in PR once you get use to the scenic view (mountains, lots of buildings, cars). There are signs everywhere in both languages. And mapquest works with with PR addresses. Regarding the parking, hotels charge for it, around $10 per night self parking. If you go clubbing... you'll see that people park everywhere. You will find a spot. But if you plan to drink...just grab a cab and you will ensure your fun! There is plenty of parking o tourist attractions, not in Old SanJuan. You have to park in La Puntilla or Dona Fela parking lots and pay per hour. But that is the only place where it would be like that. And everything in Old San Juan is within walking distance. Let me know if I can help with anything else! Hi Renting is probably the best, but as you are only 18 you may have problems renting as they have a minmum age. You best option is to phone the various rental companies (use their local PR number) and see if they will let you rent a car.
