Getting married in Puerto Rico? |
Travel Info Okay-my fiancee and I are both from PR, and my family still lives on the island. We are currently living in FL but want to go back to PR to get married there (we already have the location & food set up) but need to know some very important details: We will need a marriage license from Puerto Rico, correct? How far in advance does the paperwork need to be filled out? Do we need to get tested & health certificates in PR, or can we do this in FL and take the information with us? How much does it cost to get someone non-religious to marry us? (Minister, judge, whatever-I'm guessing it will vary depending on who and what the person is) Thanks in advance for any info. Travel Tips Hi, Yes you will need to get a licence and make sure the certificate is bilingual. You also need to get tested and this has to be done in PR. From what I can remember you just need to go to one office to get the licence but I can not remember the name. If I were you and you have family here, I would ask them to pick up the paperwork so that you can fill it out in advance. Because as I have found out, over here you need to make one line to get a form and then another form to pay a fee and then yet another line to submit the form (things are not well organized here). Good luck http:www.visit-the-coqui.com/h... Source(s): http:www.visit-the-coqui.com/h... Other Travel Tips Yes, you need to be tested and need a license. For accurate information call Registro Demografico: (787) 767-9120 exts. 2101, 2109, 2110, 2111 (office hours) Your are right, the cost to get someone will vary... |
