Looking for cost of living in Puerto Rico/Rincon? |
Travel Info It would give me an idea with things like the price of gas, bread, milk,us beer, cigs. ect. Travel Tips well, first you should know that everything you buy in US costs less here on the island. Second, Rincon has a higher cost of living than other areas because its a big tourist place. As for the prices you asked for: gas - .75 (cents) per liter bread- 1.29 (if you get the bread made here in PR) milk- 3.00 for US milk, 2.50 for PR milk US beer- usually $1.00-$1.50 at the bar, but if you drink beer made in PR, you can get beer in a can at kiosks for $1 flat (all day rate lol) cigs- $2.75-$3.00 depending on the brand. Others "Cigs" which are very bad for you and will kill you! STOP SMOKING ok now that i have got that across, they are very cheap. like a dollar i think because all the ones in the u.s.a. are constantly getting sewed. Yuck Milk in Puerto Rico. DON'T DRINK IT Well there are no taxes in Puerto Rico... I believe the taxes are ad valorem... I think you will be paying a little bit of a premium for items in Puerto Rico, Rincon, Mayaguez, Aguadilla, wherever you live in Puerto Rico... In terms of gas, its sold by the liter... 41cents per liter, comes out to about 1.57 per gallon... A regular music CD will cost about 21.99 or so... So theres always a hidden fee... Good luck... Ok, right now PR is having a high living cost crisis. For example: since November 06 we have to pay sales taxes from 5 to 7% in any item, except medicines. Gas prices are rising every day as in USA, right now is 72-73 cents/liter. Sliced bread: $1.69. Fresh bread $1.40 #. Milk $2.05 half gallon, $3.98 one gallon, beer $8.00/six pack (aprox). Cigars (sorry, I don't smoke). I'm a local. |
