Travel Info I am going camping to Puerto Rico in July, has any body done that do you like it? How about Mosquitoes are they bad? Any tips for camping? I read you should not camp alone there, but I am any ideas? Travel Tips first off, you should not camp alone, and never in special camping grounds. That's a good way to get killed down here. Next, there is a great camping facility in vieques that for $10 per night you can set up your camping gear. They have showers and bathroom facilities and it's really close to the beach. My hubby and I went out their and got in the back of the truck for the night, really fun. The mosquitos are bad, especially in July, bring some off and a few citronella candles, that will keep them away. Third, Have fun 鈾? Others There are some beach parks where you can camp, but you need reservations. Log on www.parquesnacionalespr.com The only problem is that the website is in Spanish. Click on "ofrecimientos" then "areas de acampar". If you are looking for forest camping areas log on: www.gobierno.pr.drna - click on "Recursos Forestales" then "areas de acampar. Those places will offer you security. About the mosquitoes bring insect repellent (OFF). I didn't camp there but we went to the small island off PR's main island called Vieques. There was a beautiful beach with wild horses and the camping area was fenced in. I can't remember the name of the beach but I am sure anywhere on Vieques would be a nice place to camp. There's plenty of good camping sites. Mosquitoes are Not a Big problem... Guanica, Luquillo and Culebra are great. check it out at www.gotopuertorico.com www.welcometopuertorico.org www.puertoricoWOW.com www.wepa.com |
