Travel Tips
No Anna you are wrong. You are correct that in 2008 you will need a passport for Canada, Mexico & the Carribean; however Puerto Rico is not included b/c it is still the US. You do Not need it & you won't need it in 2008.

If you look at this site & read below you will see it states
"The passport requirement does NOT apply to U.S. citizens traveling to or returning directly from a U.S. territory. U.S. citizens returning directly from a U.S. territory are not considered to have left the United States and do not need to present a passport. U.S. territories include the following: Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Swains Island, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands." nope
As of now there is no legistration to require a passport between the states and puerto rico, the biggest change will occure the start of next year when one will be needed for Mexico and Canada
no way believe me I LIVE IN puerto rico and you wont need one any time soon!!!! and you dont need one to get back to the states either.
Yes as of Jan 2008 per American Airlines. For travel to anywhere in the Carribean. Mexico, and Canada. You will need your passport to get to and from. Also make sure you get it plenty in advance as they take some time to get to you. (Very important)
We are going to San Juan in Dec '07 but if hurricane season is bad and we have to go in '08 we will be needing a passport. We already went through all of this to be sure we did not need it for this year.
