I want to go to Puerto Rico? |
Travel Info I want to go to PR with my bf but we are only 19 and I want to be near the beach. I dont want to spend a lot of cash so should I stay in a resort or hotel? I cant drive so what am I suppose to do there? Travel Tips Since you can not drive you should stay in San Juan b/c the tourist area. It is easy to get around, walking or public transportation. However San Juan can be expensive so search for a cheap hotel or else you can always try craigslist & find private vacation rentals. I will list some below that are under $70 in San Juan. Also, I included a link of a company that gives tours. SInce you can't drive, this is a good way to see the sights. El Yuinque rainforest is a must see, Camuy Caves & Bioluminescent Bay are beautiful too! The water glows in the dark when you touch it! Also while your in San Juan you can do some things on your own, like go see 'El Morro' -Old fort, it is amazing! & you can walk the colorful streets of Old San Juan & shop & eat delicious local cuisine. Also you can go to the beach, Isla verde in San Juan is nice. & the nightife is great too. There are casinos, but I am not sure of the gambling age, however drinking is 18!!! ENJOY!! Other Travel Tips You've already missed the season... But since it's the low season, prices at smaller inns should be reasonable. If you stay in Condado (San Juan), everything is walkable. Things you shouldn't miss in PR are El Yunque - it's a rain forrest, and it's free to visit also El Morro in Old San Juan (it's a huge fort that's become a museum). Other than that, THE BEACH - and that's always free.... To rent a car in Puerto rico..You have to be 21 and have a credit card..
