Why is car rental so expensive in Puerto Rico? |
Travel Info I rented a car last month at Padre Island for about $25 per day. The agencies in Puerto Rico want $60 per day for the same class car. Why so much more there? Travel Tips Im from there and the same thing happend to me when I went there for visit. I think because in Puerto Rico they have to paid and extra taxes when they get cars from USA and maybe for that reason the car cost those company more, so they have to rise the rental prices. Others Try this travel site, they have great deals and I use them all the time. Also check out there blog! They also list the top 1o travel site as well. check it out! Puerto Rico is not cheap. Renting a car is more expensive that in many places in the states. I rent a mini van in Florida for the same price of a regular car in P. R. The company that better works for me is Target. I used when my car is on the mechanic. One of the factors that makes expensive is the insurance. If you use American Express Car or you have an insurance in your home town that is valid in P.R. you can get a better price. I'm from P.R. I guess because of the conditions of the roads, taxes and shipping costs. |
