Is there anyone out there moving to Moca puerto rico?

Travel Info
I might be moving there next year and wanted to know if there were any english speaking and intellectual groups I can join or people i can hang with. it seems to be very rural and there are not many places to go. I write books and would like to know if there is anyone I could connect with?

Travel Tips
Moca is on the west coast of Puerto Rico. It is a distance from the capitol city of San Juan. It is not too far from the 2nd biggest city Ponce, but still not very close. Yes Moca is a more rural area & not so many speak english. There will be some, but you will have to find them. I suggest trying a chatting site to make friends first, like www.boricua.com Moca is very beautiful, there is a gorgeous church & a palace to see. It is close to Rincon, which is a surfers paradise. Many Americans come here to surf, so you can find english speakers here. It is also close to Aguadilla, tourists come here to see Crash Boat Beach & also Isabella has horseriding on the beaches. Good LK! PR is beautiful & the people are friendly, I hope you enjoy it! but I do suggest trying to pick up some spanish. Source(s): www.gotopuertrico.com

Other Travel Tips
Your going to bore yourself crazy. Moca is a small town that does not offer any interesting things. Yes, Aguadilla, Aguada and Rincon are a close drive but still. I have been trapped here for sometime and I have not found any interesting people. The people who speak English are the teens that went to private schools and they aren't many. The older folks, all they care about is how much you make and who visits your home. Most of Moca's rural areas have water problems so be aware. If I were you I would rethink the idea. I am moving back to the states in two weeks. Thank God!
Moca is big "small" town in the west, farmers all the way, nice small town ,very clean place...looking for english speakers there's a small community of surfers in Rincon almost everyone from the states ,if you come from a big city it can be a big change.
I live in Plata of Moca.Plata is a part of moca near san sebastian. I think you know where is moca located. People are wrong telling Moca is bored because moca is surrounded by 3 big cities (Aguadilla, Isabela and San Sebastian). Those cities are about 5 or 10 minutes from Moca. Those cities arent bored, because they have a lot of atractions. In Aguadilla you will find a Mall, a lot of nice beaches, specially Crash Boat. Also Aguadilla has a Ice Skating Arena, and many clubs where you can pass a great time with friends. Isabela also is a city at the coast where you can go to beaches and shopping center. In these two cities we have Cinemas. Also in Aguadilla we have a water park called Las Cascadas. Is the bigger in Puerto Rico. San Sebastian have a lot of festivals, very nice festival.

Apart from that there is Rincon, a city that its about 15 minutes from Moca. There is a Lighthouse, very interesting, and the beaches near this lighthouse are scenario of world surfing competitions.

Also the biggest city at the western part of Puetrto Rico, Mayaguez is about 35 minutes from MOca. I attend to college there, and youre not going to be bored at that city.

So Moca is not a big city but it is surrounded by big nice cities.
ALso there are some places where you can eat awesome food.

Dont think Moca is like Amazonas, never in the life, and there are many people that speak english, both languages.

Dont be afraid, you will never regret about your decision.

Remember any doubt, contact me.
The is not much to do in Moca, is a small town but ironicly there is a Historic place which is an old house which inspired a Puertorrican author(Enrique Laguerre) to write a famous novel(I think it was La Llamarada). The house(hacienda) is a tourist attraction.
moca song
Sugar:Alright
Test-test-test-test
Hello?
Are we ready to go here?
*Clears throat* May I have your attention please?

Crowd:What?

Sugar:May I have your attention please?

Crowd:Yeah!

Sugar:Will the real Sugar baby please speak up?
We're gonna have a problem here!

Y'all act like you've never heard a little white girl before
Jaws all on the floor
Acting like you can buy me in a sugar store
*Cha-ching*
Cruising the halls
You must be looking for more
Cos I'm bigger than that
And I wont be stuck on the floor
Haha-haha-haha

Guy:What you laughing at?

Sugar:Your all talking like, oh wait, no way! You're kidding!
She didn't just sound like I think she did did she?

Guy:Yeah yeah yeah!

Sugar:Hey-Hey-Hey where's sugar?

Guy:Where you at?

Sugar:I'm right here! Sleeping in Moca's pocket!
Tee-hee
Sugar-sugar-sugar-sugar-sugar sugar-baby, sugar-baby!

CHORUSI'm sugar baby, the REAL sugar baby
All you other sugar babies are just imitating
So wont the real sugar baby please jump up,
please jump up, please jump up!
Cos I'm sugar baby, the REAL sugar baby
All you other sugar babies are just imitating
So wont the real sugar baby please jump up,
please jump up, please jump up!

Guy:Woah!

Sugar:Look at her, walking around with her own crew,
Mad Dog and Billy and Moca too!
She's so damn short though!

Guy#1 WHAT?

Sugar: Yeah!

Guy#2:That's my girl yo!

Sugar:And there's a million of us just like me,
Fuss like me, just don't give a fu--
OH! I would never say that!

Guy:Sugar!

Sugar:Dress like me, walk like me, have hair like me
And might just be the next best thing, but not quite me!

Oh and could the rest of you please lie down
'cos I can't see anything *thanks!*
