Travel Info Going to P.R. with 3 buddies....cheap place to stay close to the nightlife and beaches??? Travel Tips Ok so what is cheap to you? I assume you want to stay in San Juan so you can be near the nightlife. San Juan hotels can be expensive. Below are some links to vacation rentals in San Juan for under $100. You won't find much cheaper than these. Hope that helps! ENJOY! No matter where you stay you are bound to be close to the beaches other than close to proper downtown i.e. San Juan. Best would be to rent a condo from a private owner if possible. Condado, and Isla Verde are good places to stay. Check these websites: www.qpsm.com www.gotopuertorico.com Good luck. Cheap won't cut it...unfortunately, it's expensive to stay there. The idea of a cheap howard johnsons doesn't exist anymore! You won't find anything for $59.99 a night! I agree you could get a rental for a cheaper price, especially if you do it weekly. There is a very nice place called Playas del Yunque, on the northeast, about 30 miles from the airports, and it has beautiful beaches. This is a private condo complex but many people rent. try: www.clasificadosonline.com for links to rentals around the island. This particular place is right next door (walking distance by the beach) to the Westin Rio Mar Gulf resort. You could always drive to San Juan from there for more action at night. It's also across from El Yunque National Rain Forest, the only US "owned" rain forest in the entire country. Well, Puerto Rico is famous for the partying and nightlife. If you go to a boardwalk in Boqueron, which is on the west of Puerto Rico, it's almost like an outdoor night club! It's only like that on long weekends, though. Bands come out to play music, the atmosphere is energetic, the food is great, jewelers open their little stands with beautiful handmade jewelry, and they say that the women are the one of the best reasons you should go. I was born in PR and I travel all over it. |
