Do we need international driver license to use a car in Puerto Rico? |
Travel Info I live in Canada. I just use my canadian driver license to drive cars across U.S.A. and Hawaii. Is Puerto Rico needs an international driver license (for Canadians)? Travel Tips I am from PR, and many people that were in Navy ships coming from all over the globe could rent cars there. They did not need anything else than their regular license. PR cops are not too fluent in English, so if you get stopped just start speaking and they will let you go! Others Since it is a terrtiory of the US, I have a feeling you will be okay. Best to check with the local tourism board. http://www.prol.com/transportation/carre... I WOULD LISTEN TO JULESAC You never have to have any other driver's license other than your own. You are legally only suppose to have one driver's license period. Just make sure it is current and easily readable, by that I mean if yours is bent/scratched/etc I would consider getting a new one before leaving home for your trip. experience No you don't need one. You can use the one you have. If you plan to stay for a long period of time, like for more than 3 months, I believe you need to get the Puerto Rico license. But, how's the policeman who stopped you going to know how long you've been visiting??? Just used the one you have, relax and enjoy your trip! |
