And truthfully, crime rates in all tourist areas (worldwide) are high - obviously because most people let down their guard when they are travelling and might not see warning signs that are right in front of them. I'm Puerto Rican myself, but I would suggest being careful in any areas you go to, especially at night. Other Travel Tips crime in san juan is high. the western part of the north shore has good surfing depending on the time of year. Good scuba/snorkeling off the west and south coast. BRING MOSQUITO REPELLANT !!!!! I agree with the first poster. Be aware that crime rates are quite high and stay in areas that look more touristy. You should check out the el San juan hotel its has great night life and the beach out in front is decent. |
