Travel Info do i need to travel with my green card... Travel Tips If you have a US driving license then you should be OK with that. Travelling from the US there is no customs to go through, so it is just like travelling to any other state. So you should just be asked to show a general ID when checking in and going through security. When ever I travelled here (Puerto Rico) I always had my green card with me (but I was never asked to show it). Just used my driving license You will not need a passport to get to Puerto Rico if you are coming from the US. Others I live in Puerto Rico. You do not need a "green card" if you are an American Citizen. If you are not an American Citizen, yes, bring your travel papers, and a passport. If you have a driver's license issued in the US, then you should have no problem. PR is a US territory and it is no different than traveling to another state. Have a good time on my native island! Puerto Rico is a common wealth of the US so you dont need a green card, visa, or passport. Just bring your DL or other govt. issued ID card just in case anything happens. Technically to travel to PR ( or other US commonwealths, territories or possessions) you do not need to bring or carry with you anything else than a picture ID (ex. driver license), this is cause you are not consider to have left the US. Now days I would say you are better off traveling with your documents or at least make copies of them and bring them with you, cause you never know with so many security issues going around specially on airports when you'll need to have that proof of who you really are.
