Travel Tips
In PR we are a race so diversified that no one will know you are African-American unless you open up your mouth. It's like me here, most of the people don't know i am PRican unless they catch my accent (pretty good in English), then i make people guess and they never know that i am unless they are PRican themselves. One of the many things i love about my island, racisms, i would say, its almost non-existent. Loiza is full of negros chulos and very talented and believe me, we are proud of the real and good ones. So we welcome you anytime.

I think so. Moving is always a little stressful and hard at the beginning because you don't have friends, but you will make friends easily. In Puerto Rico we have black people as well, so you will not stand out. I feel confident that you will find people willing to help you, to practice their English with you and you will improve your Spanish before you realized. You don't say to which town you are planning to move, but if you are in the metro area there are many cultural events that would be the perfect opportunity to meet people and improve the language.
Good luck!
Sure it is! You do not need a visa nor passports since PR is a US territory. And nowadays, you do not even need to know much Spanish since you can always find someone who speaks English to help you out. And honestly, being from Puerto Rico myself, I believe that there is a lot less racial and ethnic prejudice on the island compared to the mainland USA.

Good luck!

PS: Do not be offended when someone flirting with you calls you "Negrita"! It really is a compliment!
You shouldnt have much of a problem. Racism is almost non-existent on the island. The only thing you will need to learn is Spanish since it is extremely necessary to learn it to survive on the island. Outside of the San Juan metropolitan area, many people do not speak English.
Sure, but all the other islands would be easy for you to move to also. St Croix and St Thomas are also US and predominantly black. St Thomas would have even better salaries than San Juan. You would have to know spanish to live comfortably in Puerto Rico. St Thomas has fairly expensive rents which would be lower in San Juan.
