Travel Info Has anyone experienced any random INS checks when coming back to Mainland from Puerto Rico? I've gone before and nothing happened. Now, I've heard there may be INS agents inside the gate asking people for their country of citizenship. I want to know how it works for people that say other country besides US. I hold a F-1 status but I'm afraid to be checked. I want to know what they ask for, or what is enough for them.

It's because as of early feb. this year, passengers coming back into the U.S. are required to have a passport, because P.R. is a U.S. territory and passports aren't required, the agents ask the question because it's required of them to ask Any kind of positive ID would do such as a drivers license or any ID that has your pic. on it
