Travel Tips The fee to change your flight is typically $100 per seat, per direction. That is, if you are changing either your inbound OR your outbound flight, but leaving one of them the same (either your departure or arrival) it'll be $200 total. If you change BOTH the inbound and outbound flight it might cost more. Tack on to that any differences in fares (if the fare that you bought it at is not available on the date you want to reschedule for, then you'll have to pay the difference). When I was in Cancun, I changed my outbound flight date and time. The airline charged me $126: $100 fee for changing it, and $26 because the fare that I originally booked it at wasn't available for the date I was leaving and I had to pay the difference.
