Travel Tips Dreams is one of the best hotels in PVR with the best beach in this area. You will like it very much, and your wife too. The places "MuST" visit are the following: MEALS: Breakfast: Las Margaritas, Freddy's, Hotel Posada Rio Cuale. Lunch: Mariscos Tino's, Ocho Tostadas, Mauricio's, El Coleguita. Dinner: Cafe des Artistes (expensive but the best). And once again Hotel Posada Rio Cuale (Ask for the Ceasar Salad, the best south the border) PLACES TO GO: Yelapa (a beautiful island. An all day tour); Jungle Tour; Chico's Paradise; Nuevo Vallarta. WILD NIGHT: Hilo's, Carlos Obrian's, Christine. Have a good vacation. PS: Always ask to the cab driver the fare, before you get aboard. From the Dreams Hotel to downtown, he must charge you no more than 15.00 usd Others Avoid any boat trips since she's pregnant, the Pacific ocean is quite rough. The city water is safe to drink, they have a city-wide purification system, and I never had any problems with the local food either. Plan to spend a full day at the malecon (boardwalk) downtown, lots of culture and shopping. Most of the tourist traps can be found there as well. My 1st visit I took nothing but taxis, 2nd trip took bus & taxi equally and 3rd trip totally used bus transportation. Very easy use to use their buses, although somewhat crowded, esp, in the AM but MUCH cheaper. I did the jungle tour by charter bus which was very interesting, but a full day. A lot will depend on just HOW pregnant your wife is feeling; there is a lot to see and do downtown. If possible, take in the Fiesta at La Iguana, it is the original Mexican Fiesta in Puerto Vallarta. Great food (buffet) and spectacular show. Have fun! Congrats on the baby! ****!! |
