Travel Tips you cant. you need to get a mexican phone Others You need to call Cingular in the US to see if you can have international use on your phone plan activated. If you already have, and you are calling the US, dial 001 plus area code and number. If you are calling local number in PV call 3 plus the 7 digit number. All cellular phones are not compatible outside of the country I never use my phone in phone in Mexico, since the charges can be so high. (Remember Nationwide calling is US only) Its better to rent a phone from someone in Mexico like Baja cellular and don't use your personal phone. If you do use your Cingular phone, you will need to call their Customer Service first, they must activate your number for use outside of the USA Sorry...don't know for Cingular. Make sure you check out the ZOO bar on the malecon, and if you are going to take a party boat, the best in the area is The Rythem of the Night. I just came back from Puerto Vallarta and I have Cingular. It dialed the numbers exactly as they are programmed in the phone. Do make sure that all your numbers already have an area code. Otherwise you will get a recorded message in spanish saying that they are unable to complete the call and please check the number and try again. You just dial normally, I would rather buy a new sim card in Mexico, a lot cheaper to make and receive calls, I think You can, but the cost!! Ouchies! |
