Would Puerto Vallarta be a good honeymoon destination in March even if it coincides with spring break? |
Travel Info We are planning a March honeymoon and are looking at Puerto Vallarta as an option. But we realized that it's in the second week of March and will coincide with Spring Break. Is PV a spring break hotspot that can ruin a honeymoon? What about Hawaii? - thanks. Travel Tips First, congratulations on getting married! I currently live in here in Vallarta and have for 2 years. And while spring break isn't really crazy, I still wouldn't advise Vallarta on your honeymoon. It's a lovely place but you'll likely be hounded by timeshare salesmen during every second of daylight because honeymoon couples are their prime targets. It's sad, but unfortunately true. And because it's spring break, the sheer amount of timeshare guys will be beyond difficult to avoid. Los Cabos is better on that end. Cancun is pretty crowded. Hawaii is beautiful. But if you're looking for the spanish hospitality, check on the Baeleric Islands in Spain. They are quite possibly one of the most beautiful places on earth(that I've been to). Good luck! Others Puerto Vallarta is great but I'd suggest Puerto Penasco for honeymoon. Better atmosphere. Everything is pretty close to the beach; outdoor market, resorts, fishing, party boats, etc. It's really a beautiful place to visit. check it out at: http://www.puerto-penasco.com/ Went PV last march 06. Yes there are lots of Timeshare folks around every turn but you can tune those types out. If you have the Bucks I would think Hawaii could be better but I haven't been there yet. If money is an issue PV might be a better buy for your money. Theres nothing wrong with Puerto Vallarta. There are lots of romantic things to do geared at couple. Rhythms of the night cruise, etc. Just make sure to choose a hotel all the young kids arent staying at, they can get a tad annoying!!! ya, pv is awesome! i went there 4 spring break its no too bad. hey congratz!! be prepared for it to be super busy, need to book for that time months in advance, seriously. Last year wanted to go for spring break, but was booked solid for the week before, during & after spring break, so I went in Feb instead |
