Travel Info I am going to Puerto Vallarta. Do you recommend that I rent a car or just use public transpotation? Thanks!? Travel Tips How brave are you? The road lay outs are very different than they are in the U.S. You get in the far right hand lane to make a left turn or u-turn!!! We used the bus and cabs to go everywhere we needed. It was perfect. Try to check out the zip line tour on the south end. It's where the filmed Predator. The dune buggy tours are great too...there is a tequila factory tour towards the end, so be sure to have a sober driver for the last leg of your tour. Others tAKE THE BUS ..IT IS CHEAPER, THEY TAKE YOU ANYWHERE AND...THEY RUN 24 HRS. It really depends on what you need to do, what are your transportation needs? If you have to be out and traveling around a couple of hours or more every day, then maybe its worth while. BUT car rental in Mexico is expensive! It will cost you at least DOUBLE what it would cost in the US. You should also know that taxis are very inexpensive compared to the US as well. If you want to travel a longer distance, then Mexican Premium bus service is economical and among the best in the world! best get an agent If you are interested in getting an air conditioned, CD, Standard Nissan from Thrifty car rental for one week for $200.00 in Puerto Vallarta let me know at mexkimo@yahoo.com PS- For an additional $50.00 you can have an automatic, unlimited miles and insurance for the week. I would not rent a car, taxis are the way to go. The police like to pull you over for no reason other than to get money out of you. They might tell you they saw you speeding with thier eyes not a radar gun. I rented a car once in Mexico and got pulled over twice in one day. Had to give them money. The bus is cheap, but the one time I used it the driver could not speak english so only take it if you know where you are going and have to get off. Like I said in the first place taxis are the way to go. |
