Travel Tips My mom is a travel agent so occasionally she gets free trips or gets paid to go on vacations with a large group of other travel agents. Another way to go places for free is to work for a cruise ship. Cruise ship employees are allowed to leave the ship when it is in port if they don't have to work a shift at that point. You could also become an au pair and travel to some foreign destination for 4-24 months. An au pair is a nanny so if you are doing this you will be spending about half your time nannying and half your time is doing whatever you want. My cousin is doing this and the family she is working for pays for pretty much everything for her.
