I am going to Puerto Vallarta next week, and noticed the weather would be a bit cloudy.? |
Travel Info Is it true you get just as much color laying out if it is overcast (as opposed to sunny)? Also, what the best outdoor lotion/oil for getting really tan? Travel Tips go to this site for very reliable weather forecast. http://www.wunderground.com It's true, you can get a tan on overcast days. Start off with 30 UVA and as you tan go to a lower UVA. Banana Boat has a good one. Continuous Clear spray. Called Ultra Mist. Waterproof and Sweatproof. Good luck and have fun on your trip. Others wear a jacket there problem solved Have a nice trip? I heared it was like half the UV through clouds, I like to use olive oil because it smells nice (you won't smell like coconuts!) and it's free (kitchen cupboard tehehe!). i was there all this past week, and it said it would be cloudy every single day and it wasn't! about 4pm or so some clouds started to come in, but by then it was just nice to cool off! and yes, you can sunburn in cloudy weather, so i guess that means you can tan as well. here is what i did....i bought Neutrogena's "Summer Glow Daily Moisturizer." this is a lotion WITH spf 20 AND self tanner. i put it on after my shower (pretty carelessly, it's not the kind of thing that's going to turn you orange. although i did wipe the palms of my hands off after i applied it.) then i used a heavy sunscreen on my face. the light sunscreen enabled me to stay out longer (believe me you want to use SPF. if you get a burn you'll be too miserable to continue tanning) and even on days i didn't lay out, the self tanner continued to work. basically by the end of the week i ended up with this really pretty toasted color and it took WAY less sun time and way less effort than it ever has before. in fact...i'd say i had a nice tan by the 3rd day! and because the stuff was lotion, with spf and tanner, i never got dry skin, and only got a little red on my shoulders and nose...you don't want to burn because when it peels, the tan will peel off and you'll have splotchy white patches on our skin. Hey there, Have fun! I am going for the first time in June. I have 15 days to kill. I've printed all kinds of fun things to do and see. Weather is 63 today in PV and low 80's rest of the week. Take loose fitting clothes and a light windbreaker - intermittant downpour's are common but last a short time, cooling off the air and surrounds. Been their 4 times....even thou its cloudy... its hot or hotter!! Dont take a jacket...trust me! |
