Anyone been to Puerto Vallarta?

Travel Info
I'm going there in June and was wondering if anyone knew what it was like there?? Where are some places to go see, hang out, eat etc??? Please give me any info you have.

Travel Tips
It will be pretty hot. When you have a full day, hop on a bus from Sam's Club/WalMart and head north to Bucerias. Busses are cheaper than cabs, usually one bus from your hotel to Sam's Club and one bus up to Bucerias. They have cheap hotels, beautiful beaches, less people. Adriano's on the beach (big Orange restuarant, 1st one, after walking through the plaza) has good food, great drinks, great people work there too...they basically adopted me. I lived in Bucerias just out of high school. Have fun

Puerto Vallarta is beautiful! There are so many things to see and do! Try Trip advisor for recent updates.

Canopy Tours
Canopy tours are becoming the craze for PV-bound travelers. Two major tour operators are Vallarta Adventures, located north of town, and Los Veranos, located a distance south of town.

Many travelers seem to prefer Los Veranos since it has the most lines and longer ones as well. Also, on other tours, participants have to climb to platforms in some of the trees and navigate hanging bridges; not so on Los Veranos! Plus, participants have the river to splash around in at the end of the trip.

One thing to remember for most canopy tours: there is quite a bit of hiking and climbing involved 鈥?up hills and stairs to platforms. Expect to get soaking wet by the end between the heat, humidity and hard exercise. Water is provided frequently throughout these types of tours.

** Note: The original information for this thread came from the following forum thread: http://www.tripadvisor.com/showtopic-......

Safety is the first concern of these tours -- so do not be concerned about falling or hurting yourself. Also, people with a strong fear of heights may not enjoy the tour as you are up in the air, sometimes way up in the air. But, if you have only a mild fear of heights, this should be no problem as most of the time you are looking ahead, not down, and are concentrating on when to break to control your speed. A canopy tour will be one of the highlights of your visit.

I stayed at an all-inclusive resort for two weeks and found that two weeks eating the same food was boring! My friend and I were on a budget so we only did the city tour but it was great! it took us all over the city and the guide Ramon was really funny. The all inclusives are far from El Centro where the action seemed to be! If you are staying at one, bite the bullet, take a cab and explore more of the city! That's what I plan on doing next time!
ITS awesome..many awesome thigns to do, like that guy said bunhc of canopys, there is also a cool pirate ship called el marigalate.day and night shohs(i sugest the nigh shows cuz it has fireworks), there is a placed called sea life park where you cas see sea lions and swim with the dolphins or see the shows..whale watching, snorkeling, horseback riding,,my old time fav..sunset cruising!!legal age is 18 so if you are enjoy!!Juts tell oyu parents to watch out the annoying time share guys in every damn corner!!have fun..Im going on dec
I'm Jealous! Have an amazing time! It is so beautiful. I stayed all inclusive, which is nice, but like the person below said you get bored with the food. I would never go any other way though. The money you save on drinks makes up for it. I stayed at Playa Los Arcos which was very nice, and they had an activities director who planned all sorts of stuff during the day, and took us out to clubs at night. We went on a Day cruise and got to snorkel, climb a mountian to get to a waterfall, and got tons of tequila on the way back (a little too much). I was staying on the southern coast, so I really didnt get much further than the Malecon (like mainstreet). It was an amazing trip and I am saving up to go back!! Have a great time!!
