How can i go to cochin from pune ?

i think there's no direct flights
pls tell me about connecting flights.
i enquired with the railways, there are only one daily train and one weekly train.
i'm considering a drive option also. which is the advised route to drive, so that i can have a pleasant, enjoyable journey ?

Flight option
Go to bombay and catch a direct flight to cochin (there are many flights) though you will get the best rate and immediate booking on Air India's late night flights. They are domestic hops for Intl flights, so the cheap rates(approx 3500)
Rail Option:
You have one daily train that is 'Jayanthi Janatha - Bombay Trivandrum' and a weekly option.
Road Option:
Catch Konkan route via Kolhapur, Goa, Mangalore and north Kerala for the shortest and most Picturesque route. No debate ar option on that!

Others
if u wish to drive through the hills then that would be a very good idea, or u could also travel by train im not sure abt bus

from pune go to Mysore ( Karnataka) by road/rail. from there u can go to cochin by road/rail. least length & less frequency

from pune go to bangalore (Karnataka) by road/rail/air from there u can go to cochin by road/rail/air. moderate length & moderate frequency

from pune go to Chennai (Tamil Nadu) by road/rail/air. from there u can go to cochin by road/rail/air. most lengthy & most frequent.

Jet airways operating flights from pune to bangalore
dep 1350hrs arr 1510hrs ,from bangalore dep 1715hrs
arr 1815 at cochin.
railways through konkan is preferable..u dont get much bored as u get quite alot of scenaries...or else u can take jet airways ..it has got a connection fight...u wil have to change the flight at bombay and go..or take spice jet til banglore.it wud be cheaper and from there u can take a airbus and that would take at about 10hrs from banglore to cochin
take a bus via mangalore
for a road journey you can try cochin,calicut,mangalore,hubli... or cochin,coimbature,salem,hosur,... excellent highway
