Also Pune is further from sea as compared to Mumbai so the clouds tend to shed water faster in Mumbai. Don't feel if u are in pune.. mumb. is in windward side western ghat thus get in direct way of moisture laden wind but pune in leeward side Pune is in the lee ward side of the Western Ghats (rain shadow). Mumbai is in the windward side of the Western Ghats and therefore it receives more rain. most of the part of mumbai is surrounded by sea...here the climate is also humid that's why it has more rains than pune.one more thing is that pune is in the leeward side that's why it has less rainfall comparatively. |
