Should Ontario and Quebec become Canada and let the rest whistle in the wind? |
Travel Info Should Ontario and Quebec become Canada and let the rest whistle in the wind? Travel Tips In case none of you had any history classes, Quebec was found before ANY other provinces. Quebec wants to become independent because or their uniqueness. Unlike the other provinces, we are a bilingual province. Why would anyone want to deny the French language? Because English is the international language blahblahblah? Can't we be open-minded? Why do people always have to think only of themself. Let others be what they want to be geez. I don't think Ontario has a lot of French speakers, maybe only a few. Quebec is different, that's why it wants to separate itself... Personnaly, I don't know if I'm for or against such act... I truly believe in "la nation qu茅b茅coise" because we ARE different. The rest of Canada seems so much more influenced by the United States. Quebec is a great place, sure it has it's faults too, but I think we are really open-minded. Others NO. My Canada includes every province and territory that it currently does. I think the biggest problem is in the top heavy governmental administration. There are way too many people making WAY TOO MUCH money for jobs that are equivalent to regular office jobs in accounting or banking. I say that all those jobs need to be re-evaluated and a decent salary paid for the work done, instead of the phenomenally high rates paid now. Did you know that the average middle manager (who doesn't do a whole lot of work in a day) makes over $100,000 a year? This is in all arms of governmental employment from Works to the Post Office. why would Ontario want to join Quebec why doesn't Quebec join the USA and leave the rest of us alone so we don't need to spend a fortune getting new geography books printed. besides the rest of the country cant understand most of you folks in Quebec anyways You mean FREE OF CANADA I gather? I hadn't known that Ontario had separatist leanings! Still, I can offer the example of my US state and the state across the river here. I live in Ontario, OREGON, ironically with Idaho nearby. My region of Malheur County (yes, French and Payette, Idaho is 3 km/5 miles off) is often overlooked by western Oregonians and we kid that Oregon ends in Bend (central Oregon) and we are somewhat isolated by mountainous and desert geography from the rest of the state. A common complaint was that when the FCC restricted rebroadcasting rights for distant stations on cable years ago we lost most contact with the Portland news media. We got one back that was co-owned with a Boise station. We are fiercely Oregonians with our hearts in Boise cash registers. Michigan and Ontario province have strong ties. I know a lot of Ontario residents. I don't feel like they have a problem with Canada. Ontario is a media and industrial center, with major stations of historical note in Windsor, London, Toronto, auto plants for GM and Chrysler, probably Ford. Ottawa is the capitol, is it not? I cannot see what's wrong with any province of Canada. I can see what's wrong with USPS sending my stereo repairs from Ohio to Canada, even after the sender has told them there are two or three Ontarios here and ZIP codes have FIVE NUMBERS (ie 10101) not 2T6 Z4N... I'd say don't behead the rooster if you raise poultry. Best of luck and that Barbara from As It Happens? too. Most of my Canadian eBay trade is from Ontario! Ontario and Alberta should become their own country. Quebec is full of morons. |
