What to do and see in Quebec City? |
Travel Info Will be traveling with 12 yr old girl and travel trailer for 4 days in July. Any recommendations for RV park with pool and fun and interesting things to do and see. Have been on-line, but would like to hear personal experiences. Travel Tips The historical stuff is pretty good (mostly English vs. French in 18th century). Tourism is big so tours in English are common. Chateau Frontnac is the magnificent hotel... you can tour for free even if you don't stay there. Go for breakfast at a crepes place--they're popular so don't be surprised if there's a line. The Montmoracy (?) falls is a waterfall that's taller than Niagra but narrower--steps up and down the side (& cablecar exist as well). Some boat rides on the river are also possible. Shopping for the local Quebecois things are fun--some days they have a market and shows in the Old Port area as well. Say "bonjour" and be willing to laugh if you don't speak French -- most of the locals in the tourism industry speak English well enough, but >95% claim French as their first language. Source(s): Went to Quebec City in 2002 Other Travel Tips I don't know abotu RV parks, but definately spend some time in the old part of the city. Go to Place Royale - it's one of the oldest parts of the city. There's shopping, a great little museum in the plaza near the church (VERY family friendly), and it's just so different! There are walking tours which are nice, but if you can afford it, take the carriage tour. That was one of the best ways to see the city and hear all the quirky lil stories. Mont Sainte Anne & Le Massif!!!!!!!! |
