Is a US driver's license good enough to cross the Canandian-US border? or do I need a passport?

Travel Tips
A U.S. driver's license is sufficient, but they can ask for more identification.
A passport will be required by 2008, but there is strong opposition to this requirement. Among those complaining about the idea is British Columbia Premier, Gordon Campbell, who states that requiring people to use passports to cross these land borders "will do very serious damage to the Canadian tourist industry and the tourist industry of the United States." Other Travel Tips
ID is required but there is no passport required. However, if you have a passport you may bring it and it may help facilitate your easy entrance.
All you need is your driver's license to cross the border. A passport wouldn't hurt just in case.
All you need is a picture ID so a valid Driver's License is okay. I've used them both (DL or Passport) to travel back and forth.
