Is Quebec a good just-by-myself vacation spot? |
Travel Info I'm 26 & female, I plan to go to Montreal on vacation this summer, and I want to know: a)is it safe? and b)is it fun just for one? Travel Tips ABSOLUTELY. Montreal is a very safe and fun city. Lots of things to do and explore. Some of the best times I've ever had were as a single student living downtown, roaming around Montreal and exploring all its excellent museums, sites, and restaurants. Now I'm old and married and boring, with the city's 47 summer festivals and 100s of cafes and other fun stuff taunting me because I'm trapped in my house all the time with a toddler and laundry and a job.... Your question has made me depressed about my life... thanks. ; ) Others No less safe than any other big city. And by yourself is no big deal, plenty of arts and history. Yes it's safe Yes you can have fun by yourself check this out http://www.go-montreal.com/ http://www.go-montreal.com/ Quebec City is better. OUI<OUI Yes, any Canadian city is relatively safe compared to the rest of the world, in spite of the novels by Cathy Reichs. There are lots of activities in Montreal in the summer, like the Jazz and Just for Laughs festivals. If you head to Crescent Street in the evening, there are lots of sidewalk-cafes and bars to meet people. Generally, Montrealers are much more outgoing than Torontonians. For culture you can head to Old Montreal, Place Jacques Cartier and for shopping along Ste-Catherine Street. Bon Voyage!! |
