are there to do.They can use public transpertation.

Travel Tips
Depends on what they like to do. Aquarium is a good place, check with Sepaq though as they were speaking of closing it this summer or this fall.

Museum of civilization has always one or two interactive expo that could interest teens.

Chute Montmorency - higher falls than Niagara, 30 min. from Quebec city- it's wonderful but public transport can be complicated. Check on Internet (below). And if you can, don't miss the real big spectacular fireworks over the Falls, except if someone has asthma.

The old city is really beautiful and touristic with a lot of shops, artists and wonderful views on the St-Lawrence river. Many places with animation on the week ends.

For the paranoid (warning for "gangs" and so on), note that there is much more risk in taking a car to ride than to get any trouble in Canada. Incidents get a lot of coverage in the press but death and injuries come about 1000 times more often from cars and eating bad things AT HOME than from any other ways... So don't take the car and don't eat and... Anyway, living is risky, so I'd rather enjoy the ride than staying at home :)

Just an advice if you never drive in Qu茅bec province : care with cars, as many Quebec's drivers do not respect totally the rules, especially pedestrian passages and speed limit. Some drivers may also be impatient with pedestrian, distract people, or tourist drivers. Usually, they drive 10% to 20% faster than the limit, police will not stop until you're alone on the road and at least 10 to 15% faster than limit or faster than the group you're within.

For language, your teens can go with a little dictionary if they want but they won't have difficulties in Quebec city, about half ot the people in every touristic area will speak at least a basic English (often far better than mine :) and others will try to help anyway - if the kids are asking politely. u may search it on internet. there are lots of things u can do in quebec
you might find the SEPAQ (Parc Aquarium du Quebec) worthwhile for teenage children, lots of different outdoor activities , including an aquarium and wildlife reserve. Most likely to be lots of fun

what ever you do, just don't eat mexican food. Why? Because there are no mexicans in Canada so the mexican food you order will not tast like mexican food.
Quebec City is very french so unless your teenage children speak french, they may have a tough time. There are loads of historic sites throughout the city, the city was founded in 1632 . If you have the time, take an hour or two drive along the St.Lawrence river , you may see a whale or 2. Montreal probably would interest your teenagers more than Quebec City and is only 2 hours or so drive away. Enjoy your holiday.
