What is the best camping place in Quebec? |
Travel Info near montreal Travel Tips I used to love going to the Mont-Orford Provincial park, in the Eastern Townships (approx. 75 minutes East of Montreal). It is spacious, friendly, has a great beach and lake, and had some great unspoiled hiking trails with amazing views from the top. Being a provincial park. the service & quality is better regulated than a private campsite might be. The Laurentians ( 1 hour North of Montreal)...eg Saint-Sauveur, Mont-Tremblant also have great offerings, although it is more of a trendy & busy vacation area Others I have to agree with Mont-Orford Park. Peaceful and beautiful. Plenty of trees. You might have the visit of a raccoon at night. Nice beach, fishing (with a permit), nice biking, losts of organized activities if you like, My personal favourite. I think that going camping at Oka Park would be wonderful. The water there is warm to go swimming. Also, if you're into cycling, there's a bike path that goes from Montreal right to Oka park. I think it'd be worth a try. Go to the Rawdon site Beautiful over there , and nice town to visit If you have the time, the Gaspe Peninsula is the place. The road wends its way along the St-Lawrence River Estuary, with exciting cliffs and quaint little towns. There is a federal park at the end named Forillon where you can camp. I recall renting a kayak and seeing seals. The shorebirds are fantastic. You might spot whales. http://www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/qc/forillon/in... ANYWHERE NEAR MONTREAL-----CAN I COME WITH YOU????? AB |
