I am visiting Quebec for 3 days. What are the MUST SEE attractions and where to stay as I am on a budget? |
Travel Info Can I survive with english since I don't speak french? Travel Tips Hi! Well, these questions depend on where you're going. If you're going to Montreal both french and english are spoken there. If you're going there, you need to visit Vieux Montreal (Old Montreal), Notre-Dame Basilica (it is absolutely beautiful...Celine Dion was married here), the Olympic Stadium, and St.Joseph's Oratory. The story behind St. Joseph's Oratory is very cool and even though I am not Catholic I enjoyed it a lot. The great thing about Montreal is that you can get excellent food almost anywhere and it's relatively inexpensive. There are some great restaurants near/on St. Denis, and they have so many cultural restaurants it's unreal. If you're into it, go downtown for great bars and clubs. I personally enjoyed 747, but I don't know if it's still there. The club is built on the 47th floor of it's building, and you can go out onto their balcony and get a view of the entire city. If it's still there (and you're female) they might still have the free highballs until midnight. Other than that, I haven't really been to other cities in Quebec, but when in doubt, check out online tourist guides. Have fun! Others Quebec City - the walled City is the place to visit. Be sure to go to the Fields of Abraham where the French were defeated by the British to win Canada. |
