1) Montreal is the second largest French speaking city in the world.
2) Quebec city was founded in 1608 and is one of North America's oldest.
3) Quebec was the first Canadian province to have its own honours system, and the only one which bestows the rank of knight/chevalier.
4) Quebec's border with Labrador was only drawn in the 1920s and some Quebecers still wish to claim part of Labrador for their province.
5) The election of the first separatist government in 1976 resulted in the Canadian dollar never again being worth more than the US dollar.
