How do I transfer my dog to Canada? |
Travel Info My dog is a golden retriever Travel Tips The official requirements, coming from the US into Canada, is proof of rabies vaccination and a certificate of health from a licensed veterinarian. However, in my experience, only the rabies vaccination proof has ever been asked for. Just FYI ... you can bring dog treats and dog toys into Canada from the US, but you CANNOT take these from Canada into the US, unless they are in an original package showing they were purchased/made in the US. Source(s): Cross border frequently with three dogs and a cat. Other Travel Tips hide him Throw a stick across the border. I'll answer assuming you are comming from the States and travelling by car as you don't state otherwise. There won't be an issue if the pooch has had his rabies shot up to date You'll need to bring the certificate. There's no need to crate him if he's in your vehicle. Here's a link that will detail the procedure for both yourself and the Pup. http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/newsroom/fact... Hope both of you enjoy your stay. just a Canuck |
