What are the best areas to live in Quebec region? |
Travel Info I mean security, job opportunities, nice neighbourhood....etc Travel Tips You probably mean the province of Quebec? I would recommend Quebec City for the following reasons: -not too much traffic -You can live outside the city in a more rural neighborhood without being more than 30 minutes from the actual city -lots of shopping opportunities -great restaurants -many possible activities/nightlife options -very safe in general -absolutely gorgeous city with a rich history As for job opportunities, it depends on the field you work in. Others First of all you have to define whether you mean Qu茅bec the province or Qu茅bec the city!!!!!! I recommend Quebec City, I lived there 5 years, lived in montreal 3 years and 2 years in sherbrooke. Avantages: Quebec city is the safest of all for sure, it's pretty rare that you hear something mad up there you have 2 ski moutains at 15 minutes of the city. the old quebec is absoluty gorgeous The city helds the parlement of Quebec and the city is rich.. no problems for jobs there water is good low pollution low traffic good for activities, shows and restaurants( not comparable to Montreal tough...) Inconvinent slow common transportation(bus, train) no subway always always windy one of the coldest city in quebec during winter Definitely pick Montreal. Even though French is the official language of the whole province of Quebec (including Montreal), Montreal is very much a bilingual city. So, you can easily find jobs in French or English (though in some places you have to be fluent in both). Plus, Montreal is very safe. It is not unusual to see women walking alone at night. And finally, Montreal itself is not far from other major cities (about 2 hours to Ottawa, 3 hours to Quebec City, and a half an hour to the US border). Have fun wherever you decide to live!
