Mannheim has a robust shopping area and many off-site historical places to visit. Surrounding Mannheim, you will find Heidelberg (shoen Heidelberg), Schwetzingen with its intriguing palace, and many other beautiful cities. Ludwigshafen is mostly residential/industrial with very little to see, but beautiful none-the-less. These are a quick drive or hop on the bahn and scoot over to each. I used to live between Mannheim and Heidelberg and can tell you, it's like living on the side of a post card. Good luck and enjoy your stay. |
