What's going on in Omsk, Russia?

I will be making an extended stay in Omsk this fall. Does the city have any special festivals or traditions I should be know about? Any special parks? A popular bar/club for young people?

for nightclubs, visit Atlantida. I hope it's still there, I stayed in Omsk for a while a couple of years ago.
There was not really any festivals to speak of, but try to take in a circus if one comes around.
Ice hockey games are a ton of fun, and the play is some of the best in the world.
Above all, learn to speak some Russian and try to make local friends, Lots of folks have small weekend bathhouses that are a ton of fun. Also, you can be invited to many dinners and drinking gatherings.
You could also sign up for a language class, I made a lot of friends that way.
Contrary to reputation, Russians are very hospitable.
I was very nervous at first to go stay there, but had the time of my life. Good luck!!
