I need someone who knows the costs of a passport and 3 year working visa's,and what is required for an extended stay in the U.S. if you are coming from Russia.IE Do you need an invatation from an american or can you travel here for work without an invite !!!

Well, you really need to find out the prices for the passport at your place, where you live.

The visa's prices you can find at the US embassy, again at the place, where you live. They are around $100-115 (travel visa, you CAN NOT work or study on the travel visa) work visa is a LONG process that takes about a year.

This is something that you can't get on your own. You have to find the company here, in US that wants to hire you, then do a LOT of papers, then during the year you might get approved to come work. Or you might get the invitation for the interview. If you have enough money to travel twice you can do it. If not, then try to find someone who will start to work on this (not easy, not fast) process right a way. Of course it will cost you and the person who will hire you. So it would be better to find a big company with many international workers.

I hope I gave you an idea. If you have any other questions ask... I'll try to answer as much as I know. We went through that process. That's why I'm familiar with it.

P.S. the cost of living depends... on everything. What state, what city, what are, do you want to live in the apartment, house, do you want to buy or rent..... it depends..... Source(s): personal experience

To get a work visa you need to be hired by an American company. One person inviting you to America won't do it, since that will just be a tourist visa, with which you can't work.
