Travel Info How can I visit Russia with Green card??? Travel Tips I am assuming that you are a citizen of Turkey and live in the states. The fact that you have a Green Card does not really have anything to do with the fact that you want to travel to Russian. A US Green Card is your entry into the United States, it does not hold power for other countries (officially). What is does do is let you get visas easier because you are not seen as a potential immigrant to the country you are applying. It is assumed that you will return to US promptly in order not loose your Green Card. There are some countries that have really agreements with US that allow citizens of certain countries to enter without a visa, Russia is not one of them. You need to submit your papers, including a copy of your Green Card to US embassy in DC http://www.russianembassy.org/ You will need to show your Green Card to immigration/customs officials in Russia if you do travel. That is needed to show that you had a legal stay in US because you will not be having a visa in your passport. Without a visa a question arises of how exactly did you get to US and how long have you been there? A green card clears up that concern. They are required to check that for any country from which you are traveling. No one is going to pay any extra attention to you because of that, so don鈥檛 worry on that fact. Others my advice is...dont its hard getting in with citizenship anyway (it was for me as we had left during sovietakan times) the militzia police or whatever they were will question you for hours if you're from the CIS, try to get a passport form one of those countries to get in - dont go with an american identification if your not a citizen It`s not good idea,russian custom doesn`t like such things http://www.nemtyrev.narod.ru |
