Travel Info I saw many pictures of Kazakhstan at http://northkazakhstan.com/petropavl_gal... there is nothing to be compared with film made by Borat. Travel Tips hello, i come from kz, and the city you have seen all the pictures. the region where the pictures were taken is north kz, its a part of siberia, lots of forests and lots of snow in winter, summer is not too hot, but oh my good, everything is sooo green! lots of lakes and a river, which is very clean, because there are no factories in that region, air so pure and sky full of fluffy white clouds. if you plan to visit that part, i advise to take warm clothes, winter is really cold. we make snow cities, people are very friendly and open-hearted, honest as well. you go 5 km away from the city and there is an amazing view, water sky trees, berries growing, mushrooms, apples. i love the place where i come from. if you prefer mountains go south, if you want to see "small switzerland" there comes famous resort borovoye. please do not compare borat's movie to kz. he used the name in his show only because the idea was to talk about a country that no one knows about, like "far far away". its nothing but just a show. i like ali G's shows, but u also should think for yourself, he couldnt just build it on insulting a country. its like saying that all bens are stupid. its just a name he used. good luck in your travelling, and dont worry, a lot of people speak english in kz, and will not see villages, but cities that grow quick, cars of best models, food from all over the world, and quick-minded people. Do not forget that kz is a muslim country, though its not strict like arabic countries, its open and we respect all religions believed, but people are still behaving in a traditional way. fashion also is very important to people, the way you look and dress, everyone uses good perfume and looks great. girls are not covered with hijab, and dont be mistaken when u see a girl in a short skirt, its just a part of fashion, when u talk to her, she wont be so light behaved as in the movie. also guys are very defensive when it comes to insulting a girl. anyway, good luck. read more about kz, it has everything, mountains, steppe, desert, lakes and rivers, snow and hot regions :) depends on where u go Source(s): i know its not much but there is a video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=u4p-oifokhe... I've seen the movie Borat Got an idea on Kazakhstan Soo...for few persons over me,BORAT IS NOTHING....Borat showed Romania and poor gypsies....Kazakhstane is land of future,land of high economy..of biggest scyscrapers ... I think that you should not mention Borat in Kazakhstan. It won't make you very popular. As stated above, the village in the Borat movie was in Romania. BTW they are having a tourist-boom in Kazakhstan right now, thanks to Borat. (i read about it in one of the Russian newspapers) |
