Does russian want the soviet union back? |
Travel Info i saw a few videos about some protest marches but i thougth i would ask a few people Travel Tips There is still nostalgia for the old strong country which was the Soviet Union. People will often complain about the deteriorating state of social services (health care, education, etc.) However, I think that most people these days (well at least the ones under 30) would not want the Soviet Union back. All we want is equal treatment by the government and at least some fairness in life. Unfortunately, bringing back communism won't do that. What we'll get is "new government - same crooks". Maybe if we had a system like Sweden and Norway (they have something similar to socialism), life would be better, but who knows... Others Some yes, some (most) no. ~ For a while after the Soviet Union collapsed, there was a transiton period, and for a while it looked like going back would be easier. But I understand that they've gotten the 'hang' of economic freedom now. I doubt they'll want to look back. I doubt most do unfortunately I am not sure they are going to have any say in it with their current government seems to be going back to the old soviet days. But not being from there I am not sure a total democracy would work due to the climate being cold its hard to get businesses to locate in that kind of environment so I can see them being more of a managed democracy than anything else eventually. But in short terms your looking at least one more generation of Russians in transition. Ukrainians,belorussians,tajiks... want,but russians have no such dreams http://www.nemtyrev.narod.ru |
