Do i just need the same visa travelling to russia via poland? |
Travel Info i want to go to russia ,the cheapest way .i can get a return flight to poland for 拢100 .how difficult would i find it to get into russia this way? Travel Tips Assuming that you're a UK citizen, you will not need a Polish visa for such trip. Instead (duh!) you'll need a Belarusian one, which is not very cheap and not very easy to get. And a Russian one too, of course. Train from Warsaw to Moscow goes for about 30 hours and costs about $100 one way. (You may check all the details at www.pkp.pl, the official site of Polish Railways). It's pretty clean if you'll get into Polish carriage. Russian ones are much less, er, welcoming... On the other hand you'll witness the unique procedure of wheels change in Brest, Belarus. Ex-Soviet tracks are 14 cm wider than the European ones so every carriage has to be lifted and wheels replaced. The facility in Brest is extremely dirty and smelly, it really bears the Soviet spirit. All things considered - why wouldn't you try direct flight to St.Petersburg? Or to Helsinki, and then take a ferry to Peter?.. Did I mention that Moscow is expensive? Source(s): been there Other Travel Tips swim You need take russian viza before your trip,we have same problems in Russia http://www.nemtyrev.narod.ru If you go by train it's fairly easy, though you do need a belorussian transit visa. At the polish border they jack the train up and change the wheels because the guage is different in russia. Try flights to Tallinn or Riga for cheapos from the UK. You could even go Tallinn > St Peteersburg > Moscow > Riga Experience |
